An important part of maintenance is pruning large trees on a three-year cycle. At A Yard & A Half, we have tree climbers with Arbor Master training to provide pruning services. In New England, February and March—the dormant season for most trees—are the best months to prune. This is an ideal time to prune when the trees are free of leaves and the ground is often snow covered, so we can inspect each tree's structure and get equipment closer to the tree without damaging its roots.
