Many of the hardscape designs installed by A Yard & A Half were first conceived by a professional garden designer. Garden designers provide an assessment of your property, and a written plan for potential hardscaping, plantings, and water features. It's our job at A Yard & A Half to bring that plan to life with the installation of walls, paths, patios, and waterfalls, as well as the planting of trees, shrubs, and perennials.
Before: A retaining wall, contiguous with the neighboring properties, limited access to most of the back yard, and the expanse of sloping turf offered little visual interest.
After: Landscape designer Sally Naish terraced the slope with a series of stone retaining walls creating a spacious bluestone patio on the lowest level, a sheltered sitting nook a few steps above, and a woodland garden with views down over the property and beyond. The clients now enjoy the variety of destinations and seasonally changing vistas.
